The following illustration shows the 3 most important primary headaches. May not be lethal but boy they are uncomfortable. A primary headache attack will present in a patient as one more episode of his or her usual headaches, with normal vital signs and mostly a normal physical exam. No neurological signs will be noted, no other symptoms related to other systems like fever, arthralgias, or arthralgias, among other characteristics. Remember to review how to recognise a secondary headache which may mean something more serious and urgent.
